For many years the ATC has worked closely with students from local Learning Centres. We have undertaken several major construction projects in that time including the Roman Forge, Viking Longhouse, and many other practical building and maintenance tasks.
Each Learning Centre visits the ATC for one day each week and this enables students to spend quality time with us, learn skills, form bonds with our staff and other students and work on long term projects.
The ATC provides a unique setting to introduce young people to a good work ethic and practical farming and construction skills and our visiting students show great enthusiasm for this kind of educational environment.
We currently have capacity for two additional groups. Please contact us for details.
We welcome visits from Colleges and Universities as part of your studies and for extra-curricular enrichment. We can tailor our Pre-History to Middle Ages activities and skills to your course requirements and our staff have BA (Hons) and MA (MSc) and years of experience in heritage skills education.
You could also choose to be involved in one of our building projects on site to really leave your legacy and mark.
If your establishment would like to get involved in a historical reconstruction project using traditional crafts and skills please contact us.
