Well despite the recent challenges we're now good to go to reopen our site to visiting schools. During the school holiday period we will be running family activities for a small number of people. Staff continue to work from home so should you wish to contact the Ancient Technology Centre please call 01725 517618 and leave a message. This will be picked up remotely.
We are an outdoor education centre operated by Dorset Council providing historical experiences, linked to the national curriculum. This includes day and residential school visits, Duke of Edinburgh residential weeks, colleges and university field studies, volunteering opportunities and work experience.
Staff and volunteers have been busy planning future projects and are excited about the possibility of creating a visitors centre, to enhance the experience of learning history through the Dark Ages and making improvements to existing buildings. We would value your feedback. What would you like to see at the ATC? Please complete the consultation survey on the following link. https://bit.ly/371MVig. We promise it won't take long to complete!
We are open to the public three times a year. March, July and September. Please follow us on Facebook or see our Public Events page.
Our unique site is also available for private hire. Please contact us for more information. Due to visiting schools during the week our site is generally only available at weekends and during school holidays.
